Anne Grebby is a visual artist, writer and lecturer with an acclaimed International reputation. She held the post of Professor of Fine Art and Course Leader at Sheffield Hallam University until 2004, when she left the UK to live and work in Italy.
Over the proceeding ten-year period, she had a studio base, firstly in Pescia and subsequently, Lucca, Tuscany.
There, she concentrated on developing a series of new narrative paintings, exhibiting them in Paris and Berlin, as well as showing frequently in Italy and England. During this time, she continued to work within the UK educational framework as External Examiner, Course Adviser and Visiting Lecturer.
Anne Grebby is interested in all art as potential poetic energy, as a catalyst, an essential connection between body, mind, and spirit which, in its turn, can engender new creative processes to articulate, scrutinize, question and transform the world.
